Hannemann Engineering ApS was contacted for the task, which in short was to develop a goods buffer solution that was stable and simple in relation to their warehouse environment. The goal was for several different truck drivers to be able to operate the system. At the same time, a customized solution was needed that also met Danfoss' requirements for handling both standard Euro pallets and special Danfoss steel bundles. Both bundles and pallets had to be oriented so that the product information and barcode always faced the truck driver, regardless of whether the product was at the loading or unloading end of the line. The solution options were discussed in close collaboration with the Danfoss project team. The team consisted of project manager Michael Heiss, some of the plant's future users, Danfoss maintenance and Danfoss safety representatives. The final solution was 2 identical pallet conveyor lines built from customized Hannemann roller conveyor modules. The modularization consists of a change in the roller division, which, due to the design of Danfoss steel bottoms, had to be smaller than standard. To meet Danfoss' requirement that the product information should always face the forklift driver, Hannemann Engineering developed a rotating/shifting transfer trolley that can switch between the 2 lines as needed.
